The High Growth Small Business urban hub league table says that three of every five high-growth small businesses are located outside of London and the south-east of England.
On average 52 new businesses a day register in Edinburgh and was named the best city in the UK to launch a start-up in 2016. The universities within the Scottish capital has also proven to develop talented graduates and help the city remain one of the best places to start-up.
Start-up culture in Edinburgh continues to steadily grow and the number of new enterprise from 2016 – 2017 increasing by 415 – up by 2.2%.
The University of Edinburgh supports research and development for new innovations across the city with four ‘incubation’ centres for local businesses including Edinburgh Innovations.
