It is Global Entrepreneurship Week 2016 in November and to take part the University has a number of events taking place in Enterprise Week.

Running from Friday 11th – Friday 18th November 2016 this week is jam packed with events from all over the University. Below is a selection of events LAUNCH.ed are involved with:


Friday 11th – Saturday 12th November 

Social Storm

24 hour hackathon competition to find innovative solutions to global issues!

Friday 11th – Sunday 13th November 

3 Day Startup

Venue: Edinburgh College of Art

We have our fabulous and famous 3 Day Startup to kick the week off. (Applications now closed but come to the Demo Night!)

Sunday 13th November 

3 Day Startup Demo night!

Venue: Edinburgh College of Art

Find out what over 60 students can do in 72 hours! 3DS teams present their final pitches at demo night.

Tuesday 15th November 

LAUNCH.ed Drop-in sessions (10am – 3pm)

Edinburgh Award – Enterprise (5pm – 7pm) 

(This event has now finished)

Venue: Business School

Receive recognition for your engagement and commitment to entrepreneurship. This is also a fantastic opportunity to network with and learn from business professionals and other students. In collaboration with Careers. Invitation only.

Tuesday 15th November 

Barefoot in Business – Film Screening (6:45pm – 8pm)

Venue: 50 George Square

This 45 minute documentary is being screened as part of an attempt to set a new World Record for the largest number of simultaneous film screenings. It follows the fortunes of Uganda’s growing band of business women as they defy stereotypes and compete for the prestigious Female Entrepreneur of the Year Awards.

Learn more about Barefoot in Business. The screening will be followed by a discussion with social entrepreneur, Liita Naukushu, a Nambian-born graduate of the University of Edinburgh.

Wednesday 16th November 

‘Get Inspired’ Panel Event (2pm – 4pm)

Meet inspirational UoE alumni and hear their experiences of entrepreneurial success during and beyond their time at the University.
