A group of students and recent graduates from the University of Edinburgh took part in 3 Day Startup by the LAUNCH.ed Team. The creative, entrepreneurial and productive weekend saw our 3DSers learn how to start-up over a weekend.
Participants arrived at the venue, the Outreach Centre, with or without start-up ideas and were lead through dedicated brainstorming, preliminary pitches with feedback on Friday. By the end of the day we had seven teams with their start-up ideas ranging from social enterprises offering a social conscious alternative to shopping and gift buying to a possible solution to the NHS and GP waiting times.
Saturday saw the teams back for breakfast and catch-up before setting off on customer discovery. We were lucky enough to have blue skies and some sunshine as our 3DSers set off to talk to potential customers across Edinburgh. In their return they got to meet expert advisors.
Sunday continued with execution ready for the pitching session in the afternoon. 3DS alumni and contacts from industry came along to see the newest start-up ideas to come out of The University of Edinburgh, our four judges gave personalised feedback to each group. All mentors and judges were presented with gift boxes from TippleBox as a thank you for their time.
The final pitches closed with thanks to all including a 3 Day Startup baby grow for expectant mother Debbie from the LAUNCH.ed team.
The weekend finished with a drinks reception at Levels Café with networking.
If you missed out on this event join us at the next 3 Day Startup in October/November time or for one of our many events and competitions.
