Two LAUNCH.ed clients made it through to the North Semi-Finals of the Santander Universities Entrepreneurship Awards.

This annual pitching competition is aimed at giving a financial boost to student and graduate business ventures in their early stages from UK partner universities. Participants can win a range of prizes including seed funding, mentoring and startup support. Since the competition’s launch more than £340,000 has been given to entrepreneurs across the UK.

Lorenzo Conti is a PhD student in the School of Engineering and is behind Crover. The first remote probing device able to move within stored grains, providing real-time data across a range of measurements throughout the whole silo.

Raquel Wing from The Clean Hub is the first and only clean beauty accelerator in the world and it works to support and educate its founders as well as a community.

Lorenzo was selected as the People’s Choice in the Technology Business category and won £500. He will have the chance to win part of the £90,000 fund in London in November.
